Michael Bruno

Founder & CEO

Having been in the building industry for over 27 years, Mike started Contractor Business Solutions with the mission of helping contractors and service companies with the day-to-day paperwork dilemma, while guiding them with strategies on growing and sustaining more profitable businesses. With a team of administrative, accounting, insurance, marketing and business professionals, he now extends himself by providing Profit First consulting, bookkeeping, virtual assistants, and backend office support to the industry.

As CEO, Mike continues to run a successful design-build-remodeling company that caters to residential and commercial markets. In 2015, he also ventured into real estate development and investment. Through the school of hard knocks, and by working with some of the best business coaches, mentors, and builder colleagues, Mike has mastered the ins and outs of running a contracting business, and has become a sought-after industry speaker with his eyes set on sharing his knowledge and expertise to answer to fundamental and practical contractor needs.

Mike is QuickBooks Certified, and is a member of the Matawan-Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, and the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.


Nicole Francisco

Marketing Assistant & Content Creator

Always driven to excel, Nicole melds her eye for valuable content with keen administrative skills and a knack for marketing. Deidre McCarthy

Director of Business Development

As Director of Business Development, Deidre is a results-oriented executive with a vast background in manufacturing, and a specialty on high-end residential construction. She has run multiple companies and developed high-performance teams by leveraging her financial acuity and exceptional skills in project management, leadership, negotiation and business development.

Deidre has over 17 years of experience in commercial steel construction, and 10 years in high-end, mixed-use residential – hotels, assisted living, college dormitories, single family, apartments, and condominiums. She has a BSBA centered on Sales and Marketing, and an MBA from Keller Graduate School for Small Business Entrepreneurship. She is also a graduate of 10KSB from Goldman Sachs. In 2014, she garnered The New Jersey Small Business Centers’ (NJSBDC) Success Award for bringing sustainable employment into Hudson County; and in 2015 ABS, she also received W&MBE recognition.

Currently, Deidre sits on the Board of Directors for New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC). She is a resident of Monmouth County, and is very active in her local community.


Toni Evertsz

Senior Account Specialist

Toni has more than 20 years of experience as an accounting/ purchasing professional in the construction industry. She started her career in real estate sales, then transitioned into the residential construction industry where she worked with both large and small builders, and trade contractors. Toni specializes in providing consultative accounting services to our clients so they can better understand their financials and maximize profits.

Toni attended Kean University where she studied Business Management, then continued her education at Roberts Walsh Business School with focus on accounting.


Mike Michalowicz

Adviser & Lead Profit First Strategist

Mike is the entrepreneur behind three multimillion dollar companies and is the author of Profit First, The Pumpkin Plan and what BusinessWeek deemed the entrepreneurs cult classic, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur. He is a former small business columnist for The Wall Street Journal, speaks internationally on entrepreneurial topics, and is the creator of the Profit First method. Mike is an active adviser on Profit First to our firm.


Sharon Costanzo

Accounting Consultant

Sharon is a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years’ experience. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Pace University in New York City. Sharon worked as an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP and as an Accounting Manager at a billion-dollar telecommunications company before starting her own accounting and tax practice. She now provides accounting, tax and consulting services to small businesses and individuals in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. Sharon is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the President of the Staten Island Chapter of the New York State Society of CPA’s.


Ross Maghan

Ross graduated Seton Hall University with a Bachelor’s in Accounting in 2001. He now owns a 3rd generation family insurance agency based in Matawan, New Jersey. The Ross Maghan Agency is a full-service agency offering all lines of coverage for personal and commercial clients.

The Maghan Contractors Service Team is dedicated to helping small and medium obtain the appropriate insurance coverage for their businesses. By performing an analysis of business operations, revenue and exposure, the team assists business owners with obtaining the right coverage at the right price.
